Sooo you're planning to use the shotokaner with the evil intent eh.. ooooh. Well you're in luck. X Force 2010 would produce indepth strategies on using your favourite evil, badass, buttwhooping shotokaner.. First of, we're gonna give you a run down of the moves available for Akuma in SFO.. Move list... Upper Cut: down, Hp Leg Sweep:down, HK Round House: forward MK gou hadou: Slow (LP, MP or HP..all depends on ur choice of speed..): down forward punch Gou shoryu: Forward, down, forward, Punch (LP, MP or HP.. all depends on ur choice of intensity..) Dragon Kick: Short (can be preformed in the air and Lk, MK and HK.. all depending on length and speed): down, back kick Ashura Warp:(right) down forward LK+MK Ashura Warp: (left) down back LP+MP Supers/Specials... Metatsa gou shoryu: Down forward LP+MP+HP Temma gou Zankuu: (should be performed in the air..): down forward LP+MP+HP Shun goku satsu: (only performed at level 3): LP, Lp, forward, LK, HP. oooh So much so for those who have been consumed by more evil... Shun goku satsu: (performed at level 1): LP, Lp, forward, LK, HP. key: LP- light punch mp- medium punch hp- hard punch lk- light kick mk- medium kick hk- hard kick Welly welly well.. now that we're all acquainted with his moves.. I think we should move on to the more important and harder facts.. First of, I don't think it's an unknown fact that Akuma's not a defensive fighter, but an offensive fighter.. always on the attack and always finding ways to combolize his opponent to death.. well sometimes, you just might be in a bad position, where you're facing a crazed fighter.. say spiderman.. and he's really combolizing you. Making matters worse, you're in a corner.. Well never fear.. Akuma has one weapon that all other shotokaners.. (well apart from Evil ryu.. meh sue me Well.. Play Movie That should get you outta any sticky situation.. and you'll notice that he can counter easilly when you're on the other side.. You're not obliged to use the Temma gou zankuu.. just be urself and do what you're able to do Well.. since a game like SFO is all about how much fire power you have, ppl often forget the use of general old fashioned beat em up combos.. well.. Play Movie Akuma has a very nice super in the Metatsa gou shoryu.. the problem is, users are alway afraid to use it.. cause they're scared of being hit by an hadouken or worse.. a shinkuu hadouken. Fear not ppl.. a basic technique that works 80% of the time is to combine the ashura warp and the metatsa gou shoryu.. The trick is to try and get behind ur opponent, then excecute the move.. It's very effective when excecuted perfectly.. Well.. Play movie Well.. now that you've gotten a little taste of what Akuma can really do, let's take it home to the other characters.. Akuma vs Ryu...Well, technical in nature.. because of one main fact. The aerial hadouken/fireball.. while Akuma's gou hadous are diagonal and are not soo speedy, Ryu's are straight and quick.. giving Ryu the ability to release aerial hadoukens in succession at Akuma. The best way to counter this, it to make sure you stay over Ryu.. when you're both in an aerial battle for supremacy, stay ahead of him.. and make sure you don't get into his face with those hadoukens.. Learn how to release quick aerial fireballs in succession and you'll be alright. Akuma's pretty quick, but our friend Ryu, also has speed in SFO.. So you'll just have to be very careful and don't get caught up in all the chase and jumping from place to place.. Timing is everything..and make sure your moves are timed or you might get caught up in his shinkuu hadouken at the wrong time. Abstain from staying in the air forever or you might get in trouble with his Tatsuma senpuu kyaku. When on the offense, make sure you use your metatsa gou shoryu..using the basic strategy you saw in the movie earlier.. try and get behind him and perform it. With the help of *cough* lag.. you'll really hit him well.. And be careful not to miss ur Temma gou Zankuu.. If you miss it, you open urself to numerous counter attacks.. It's always adviceable to send a helper to disrupt his timing, then jump back and perform your move.. When facing Wolverine, you have one very good friend, your ashura warp. It helps you move through all of wolverine's normal moves..and you can use your gou hadous to counter his supers.. Basically, you should have a field day with Wolverine. Make sure you stay away as possible.. except you're very sure you're in a good position to use the combos seen in this movie Be as mobile as possible and as stated earlier, make use of your Metatsa gou shoryu. One notice is that Wolverine doesn't take any damage from supers when he blocks them.. except they hit directly.. and that's why your metatsa gou shoryu is an excellent option. When facing Chunli, well you're gonna be in for a lotta motion.. So make sure your left hand is ready. Here your favourite move would be the Temma gou Zankuu.. Knowing fully well that all Chun Li users are looking for ways to get close to you or behind you to perform her Energy blast.. she releases fireballs in quick succession so you'll have to utilize the HP when releasing ur fireballs.. Don't let her get behind u and any time you see her advancing towards your position, super jump to the other side and use the temma gou zankuu.. This works most of the time. When facing Cyclops.. well there's a simple fact.. that you can't beat Scott Summers in wide range combat.. especially when using a shotokaner.. His beams slice through their fireballs and in turn do damage to the shotokaners.. So you'll have to make do with close range combos like the ones shown earlier. Make sure you use your Temma gou Zankuu at the right time.. so that you don't avoid a costly counter.. like the directional super optic blast. When Cyclops moves from using his blasts to his optic canon, then you can use more gou hadous to counter. A simple combo to do when fighting Cyclops is to move to his face (ie always stay close to him..) then leg sweep (down HK) 2/3 dragon kick, leap backwards and do a temma gou zankuu. If you want to request a special movie showing this combo, send an email to blanka09 When facing Sentinel, well.. this is another big lump of metal.. A simple but effective strategy would surely help. Use your ashura warp to get close to him and combolize like crazy.. this movie should help. Be careful.. so as not to get caught up with his rocket punches.. and yes! utilize ur metatsa gou shoryu as much as possible. His only counter for that attack are the sentinel force. When you notice him releasing more of them than usual, then go to ur usual temma gou zankuu. It really does a number on the bot. Well... your metatsa gou shoryu may not help you that much since he'll be able to counter it quite easily.. So be prepared to use your temma gou zankuu.. to keep him imoblie! When facing Akuma.. well you've just got to be smarter. You might be facing an imobile fighter or a mobile one. Make sure he doesn't determine or run the flow of the game.. and try and be as versatile as possible with ur moves. Combining all the techniques you've read above and from the movies.. you should let ur insticts take over and be very smart.. Vary the strength and speed of each attack.. using Mp or Lp when necessary. Well.. that said. I'll show you the best way to perform the variable with Akuma. Your best partner should either be Akuma or Ryu.. Cyclops could also be very effective. Well.. Play movie -Well that'll be it for now.. Don't forget to check X Force 2010 for updates.. -blanka09 |
